Employment Law Representation

Our Employment Law practice includes working with both employees and employers.
For employees, we focus on protecting their rights in the event of wrongful discharge or other discriminatory conduct by their employers. We handle claims involving discrimination based on race, national origin, religion, age, sex/gender, pregnancy, disability and family and medical leave, as well as sexual harassment, other types of discriminatory harassment. We also focus on protecting employees from illegal workplace retaliation. And we provide skillful counsel in severance negotiations, guiding employees through the finer details involved in obtaining a comprehensive severance package to help maximize the benefits received.

Our work with employers includes counseling small and medium size employers on day-to-day employment issues. We defend employers against meritless claims of discrimination and wrongful termination. We also guide employers on proactive strategies to minimize the risk of employment litigation. We offer counsel on drafting effective severance and release agreements, restrictive covenants, and other employment agreements to protect your business.

We also offer effective representation for both employees and employers in appealing unfavorable determinations by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and the Unemployment Compensation Review Commission on issues related to unemployment compensation benefits.
